Mooring Policy
It is the mission of the Gull Lake Yacht Club to promote and conduct the sport of sailboat racing on Gull Lake, and to serve the members of the Gull Lake Yacht Club in pursuit of this sport. Part of that service is the provision of moorings for the boats of members who may require them. These moorings are provided in cooperation with the Gull Lake Country Club, on Gull Lake Country Club property.

The Gull Lake Yacht Club and the Gull Lake Country Club are not, and will not operate as a commercial marina/anchorage and all policies will be based on its mission.

Membership and a mooring in GLYC requires membership in the GLCC or a Limited Yacht Club Membership.

Moorings will be assigned with several factors taken in mind with priorities and conditions enforced as follows:

Members of GLYC and GLCC (Class A,B,C, or Senior) will have priority.

Members returning from the previous season will have priority over new members.

Members are required to maintain continuous membership in one of the established racing fleets and to participate in the fleet's activities. Participation in fleet racing activities will be a factor considered for mooring availability.

Mooring space for LYM members is subject to availability. LYM members may lose their mooring if no vacancies exist and a full GLYC/GLCC Member requests space (not during a season, only on renewal.)

Membership is accepted and mooring are provided only upon the express agreement and understanding of these conditions, and further, that member understands and agrees that member is solely responsible for the safety and security of member's boat, mooring, attachment, and condition thereof. Further, that GLCC and GLYC, its members, officers, and employees bear no responsibility for member's safety or that of his boat at any time, and that member bears sole responsibility and liability for his boat, its security, safety and operation at all times.
