The
Flying Scot Fleet
The
Gull Lake Scot Fleet evolved from the Rebel Fleet, established
by Max and Mary Doolittle in 1955. They bought the first Gull
Lake Scot, 'It'll Doo', in 1960 and the Flying Scot became a common
sight on the waters of Gull Lake. Max and Mary have both served
as officers of the Flying Scot Sailing Association and their leadership,
willingness to share their knowledge and passion for the Scot
have influenced many young sailors over the years (some of whom
are now not so young).

J-24 Fleet

Gull Lake J-24 fleet has a small but active base. The fleet is
comprised of 3 boats that are out all the time. The fleet history
dates back 15 years and has had up to 6 J-24's at one time. The
fleet consistently crews one boat for away regattas. The goal
is to grow that to two travel crews. Over the past few years the
J-24 fleet has raced in the J-24 NA, Lake Geneva Fall Regatta,
and the Muskegon Spring Regatta. The fleet is actively looking
for additional skippers and crew as an extra boat or two does
