Flying Scot District Regatta

Saturday and Sunday, July 29 &30

The Flying Scot Class will begin practice in April and continue into May. The Gull Lake Yacht Club will host the Flying Scot District Regatta on July 29 and 30, 2006.

The Flying Scot was designed by the late Gordon K. "Sandy" Douglass, an internationally known sailor whom SAIL Magazine had called "one of the best small boat helmsman this country has produced." Forty years of sailing and building small boats brought him to the Flying Scot, his most successful design - safe, versatile, and a great sailboat for the family or the racing sailor. Her combination of strength, simplicity, and the "right size" allows her to be sailed by as many as eight adults or single-handed. "Right size" means that she is safe and fast on big water, yet small enough to be towed with a small car, to be rigged, launched and retrieved by one person.
